Costa del Sol is much more than lovely beaches. There are also mountains here. After we had sent Solveig and Mette back home to Norway on Monday, we went for a hike up towards La Concha. Bodil had done some research and since we didn't have any maps she brought a digital photo of the trail.

The first
mirador was fantastic! What a view! We could see Fuengirola and Torremolinos, and lots of peaks in the other direction. But this was not enough for us. The Norwegian legs had to keep walking. Towards the top of La Concha? Time would show.

We kept walking on the trails, and after walking through the olive trees (olivenlunden...) we started climbing towards the top. La Concha.

Several Spanish people warned us about walking all the way to the top, basically because it was too late in the afternoon. (It gets dark here at around 6.30 pm now.) So while Bodil and Ragni continued to the next mirador, and were rewarded with a view of Gibraltar and Africa in one direction, and Sierra Nevada in another direction, the host was a bit more lazy and returned to the cafe before reaching the top. (Let's face it, I will go back there.)

On my way back down, I came across these signs. Quite funny. And after a coffee at the hotel's coffee bar, we went back home to Nueva Andalucía feeling quite good. Thanks girls for a lovely day!
