Tjøme

Once upon time, or more precisely two weeks ago, eight girls had packed their bags and were on their way to a place called Tjøme. One of the girls, Marisol, had access to a beautiful summer house at Tjøme. Her in-laws had kindly let the girls use their summer house this weekend. This is the Jahre family's summer house that the girls stayed in!

The girls had met at the University of Oslo while studying English. Some of them had known eachother since before 2002!! The only exception was Kelly from the USA, but she was already adopted as the girls' friend, so no worries about that! :)

The girls chilled out in the garden, and the atmosphere was great. They chatted about life (after all, some of them hadn't met since Christmas!), discussed their holidays, men, books, films, music, and other things that they found interesting!

The wine was served from the kitchen window, and in the evenings they dined outside in the garden.

They also went for long walks in the beautiful landscape out there; Tjøme, Hvasser, Verdens Ende ... all those beautiful places!!

After three days, the girls went back to Oslo/Holmestrand filled with happiness and joy, and great memories!

Family time

News update from Spain.

I'm back in Spain. It's very hot here, and I've already become sunburnt. (The sun is actually quite strong here, compared to Norway... Strange?) It's really good to be here and enjoy the weather, the smell of the flowers etc, the people, my apartment, the swimming pool, the cheap wine, and yeah -- basically just being back in the country where I live right now. And in my apartment!  


I'm looking through lots of pictures from my five and a half weeks in Norway now, and I decided to post some memories on my blog today. I have chosen my family. One thing we did was celebrating lots of birthdays, and the pink Hello Kitty party hats I brought very extremely popular! :) Other pictures from my stay in Norway will be presented in another blog entry.

After lunch my mum, my aunties and I watched Jo Strømgren Kompani's dance performance "A Tribute to the Art of Football" at the new and extremely fancy Oslo Opera House. Beautiful, isn't it?

News update from Norway. 

It's still very nice to be here. Can't believe it's been three weeks since I left Spain. I do of course miss Spain and the weather and the beach and the pool (and the people!!), but Norway life is good too. I'm enjoying time with friends and family, and the next couple of weeks I will even travel a bit!  Now I will tell you a bit about three great ladies. My friend Gina, the very old (and extremely dead) Ida, and the famous Michelle.

Gina and Bjørn Trygve got married last Saturday!!! It took them 11 years and three kids, but now they've finally tied the knot. The wedding was great -- I think everyone danced at some point, even the 86 year old granddad and the one year old son ... Lots of soar feet the next day. But all hearts were happy, and I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed the wedding!!! Thank you to Gina and BT for arranging a great party, and tanks to DJ Gamla for the music!

Gina, the bride, had chosen a blue dress. She looked great in it with her ginger hair, and I particularly liked the hearts hanging down frome the waist. My dress was from Fuengirola in Spain --- thanks to my friend Elaine for showing me that great shop in F. I also had my hair done at the hairdressers. Loved it!

We danced all night, the music was great, and the atmosphere was fantastic! Lots of fun people there, and finally I've learnt the "Glow" dance, and of course some of us did the proper "Time of my Life" dance including the famous lift...

Today I met another interesting lady at the Natural History Museum at the University of Oslo. This lady is called Ida, and she's at least 47 million years old, according to wikipedia. (http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ida_(fossil)) Took some photos for Elaine and her biology classes next school year. I must admit I'm not very interested in fossiles and stuff, but I'm glad I've seen the famous Ida now.

Now back to a slightly younger lady. Rumours say that Michelle Obama will come to Marbella this week, on holidays. Well, it's not actually Marbella (if Google Maps can be trusted), but somewhere between San Pedro and Estepona. Still, I guess this means great publicity for the Marbella area.
