Royal wedding, Survivors and the BEACH

Have had a lovely Sunday on the beach with my lovely friends and neighbours Bianca, Nick, Lucas and Jax. You may be surprised to hear that I don't go to the beach very often here in Spain, and that's more or less because it's soooo much more convenient with the swimming pool. Sad, isn't it?

Can you see Gibraltar?

Well, today we went to a beach somewhere beteween Estepona and Sotogrande. And it was beautiful there! Check out the pictures and tell me what you would do;
1.) Go to this beach?
2.) Stay at the pool in the complex?

Beautiful! Check out the very clear water!!

I have to add that there were only Spanish people at this beach. Fantastic! (As compared to certain beaches in Puerto Banús and Marbella...) Thanks for a great day

Lovely! Gibraltar in the distance, about 30 minutes away.

I'm considering starting a new career as a waitress at a chiringuito (beach restaurant)

So now I'm ready for four days in Córdoba with the Year 8 group. We are five teachers and 42 students. It's going to be HOT there this week.... :) And on Friday, the official SUMMER HOLIDAY starts, with nine weeks off work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to tell you, my readers, that Fiona, Karol and I arranged a party yesterday to celebrate that we have survived our first year at Aloha! We invited all the teachers from Senior School, and about 25 (or more?) came halfway up to Istán to Karol's fantastic veranda. We had a great party that lasted longer than anyone would have expected (it started at 2pm), and everything went really well!
Fiona, Karol and me -- the survivors!
It was luuuvly that our colleagues (and their partners etc.) wanted to celebrate with us! Karol's husband Paul deserves a MEDAL for making great food! Wow! And the venue was fantastic! Thanks again, ladies! (I didn't do anything for the party, actually, since I was away all morning as an oral exminer for Cambridge....)

Unfortunately I missed the royal wedding in Sweden. I flicked through all the more than 600 TV channels in Karol's house, but none of them showed the wedding. So to compensate, I've added a picture of Victoria and Daniel here. I'm so glad someone invented the Internet! (Picture found here: http://www.eldeber.com.bo/2010/2010-06-19/vernotaahora.php?id=100619174112)

Wishing all my teacher friends in Norway eight lovely weeks off work!! You deserve it!!And of course everyone else as well! :)

    Sommerklem:)
